Technology Changes Our Lives

Technology has come a long way that has impacted our education system, medical treatments, and everyday life. Think about how fast it is to contact someone via text, call, email, etc. Think about how with the internet it is possible to find almost every logical answer that we could possibly need.

With that being said, the inventions from 2015/2016 articles was interesting to me. There were some inventions that were well known like the self driving car, drones, and virtual reality headset. However, I have never heard of the self tying shoes or the silent hair dryer before.  All of these inventions aren't necessities, but a way to make life easier or more enjoyable.

Now on the subject of the robot I have a different reaction. The fact that there is a possibility  to have robots is frightening. Why would it be important to have robots in the medical field or on the battlegrounds? In my opinion I think it is giving too much power to a computer. If someone can program a computer to do this "important" work, then why can't an actual human being be capable of doing it? And on the robotic appliances like the footstool or vacuum I think that it is a cool idea to be able to create something that can do that but it isn't anything I would be interested in.

  1. I agree with what you said. I love how much easier technology has made it to stay in contact with other people, especially people who are too far away to go see. I also find it very interesting to see what new inventions people come up with all the time.
However, I'm also a little scared about giving computers too much power. I mean I was already a little nervous about the self driving cars as I don't think I'll be able to trust the car fully, so I will definitely not trust a robot to be my doctor, or worse, surgeon.

  2. I agree with you that technology has made a great impact on our everyday life, but I am still a skeptic as to whether or not this is a good impact. After reading Taryna's blog post I have found a new perspective. It is not whether technology is good or bad, but it is how we use the technology. Talking about the new inventions, I can sure say I want to get one of those silent hair dryers! I also agree with you that the possibility of robots replacing humans in the medical field is a very scary thought.

  3. As we all boost how wonderful technology is in our life, we also start pondering the relationship between human and technology use. Love the word you use for "technology dependency". How can technology tools be employed properly and efficiently and how teachers' role to incorporate technology will be the aspects that we need to take into account.
